Chakras

Chakras are subtle points of energy, literally called energy wheels. They act as points of energy exchange. In fact, we have hundreds of chakra points scattered throughout our subtle energy system. But the most well-known are the seven main chakras, which are connected in the central energy channel of our body that runs along the spine. When the chakras are working properly, these centres are the gateways for vital energy to enter our body through the channels (nadis) and meridians in the subtle body. At the same time, they are also the vanishing points through which low frequency energy returns back to the subtle bodies to be transformed. Each of the seven main chakras represents a particular level of consciousness or stage of life evolution from the perspective of our physical existence. Negative habits and accumulated emotions can cause the chakras to function less well when they are in a negative state for long periods of time. This makes it difficult for the personality to fully integrate the level of consciousness that each chakra represents. When the chakras are open and balanced, they form an integrated system in which each chakra is dependent on the others for optimal functioning.

Mala

The mala is originally a Hindu and Buddhist tool for prayer and meditation. It is used to count mantras during meditation. A mantra is a set of words, often from Sanskrit, which is repeated several times - traditionally 108 times. The repetition focuses on the meaning and vibration of the words, perhaps with an accompanying visualisation. As you practise this meditation practice, your thoughts become quiet and your body relaxes. Nowadays, mala is also worn as a fashion accessory.
